Evgeniya had always aspired to become an astronaut, but whilst at University found another passion in finance and dreamt of becoming the Minister of Finance of Bulgaria, where she is originally from.
Since then, she has spent 16 years in finance and auditing and is currently a partner at Deloitte & Touche Botswana.
Evgeniya spends her “free time” giving back to our planet and community. As a family, they make a conscious effort to recycle, reuse, try hard to reduce our consumption and achieve sustainable purchasing habits.
When Evgeniya first heard about Learn To Play, she really felt she had to do something to assist this organisation.
She says, “What I love about the LTP model is the fact that it touches the lives of 2 groups of beneficiaries – children and underprivileged women. The model is also sustainable – and this is critical for the organisation’s long-term success. I believe I can contribute to this success through dedicating some of my time and using my financial, governance and project management experience. I really enjoy communication with the other Board members – we are so different and so similar at the same time.”
Her favourite memory is playing on the streets for hours and hours, running, climbing, riding bikes, swimming in the Black see, playing hide and seek and any other outdoor game you can think of! Her childhood was magical.
